Buffet Battle · last updated 15 October 2026
Buffet Battle is a small food autobattler. This page says what it keeps about you, why, and what you can do about it. The short version: a chef name, your runs, and (only if you choose to sign in) an id from Google. No ads, no tracking cookies, nothing sold.
What the game keeps
- Your chef. The chef name you pick, and a random id with a secret token so the game knows it's you. Only a scrambled (hashed) copy of the token is kept on the server; the token itself stays on your device.
- Your runs. Each day's plate, the moves you made in the kitchen, and your battles, with their results. The server replays your moves to check each day is fair, and saves your plate as a "ghost" that other players battle against.
- What other players see. Your chef name, your plate and your run's record (wins and lives) when they meet your ghost. Nothing else.
- On your device. Your run in progress, your settings (sound, music), your chalkboard doodles and a few other conveniences are saved in your browser's storage, so the game picks up where you left off. Clearing your browser's site data removes them.
Signing in with Google
Signing in is optional. If you do, Google tells the game a stable id for your Google account, and the game links your chef to it so you can play the same chef on other devices. The game keeps only that id. It does not keep your name, email address, photo or anything else from your Google account, and it never posts anything or reads any other Google data.
Buying the supporter pack
The supporter pack is optional. It's sold through Stripe, which is the merchant of record and handles the payment and the sales tax: you pay on Stripe's own checkout page, and your payment details go to Stripe, never to the game. Stripe tells the game that your chef paid, and the game keeps that, with the payment's reference, the amount and the date, so the supporter scenes stay unlocked on every device you sign in on. What Stripe keeps is covered by Stripe's privacy policy.
Visits
The site uses Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits (pages, countries, devices). It uses no cookies and doesn't identify you. The servers that run the game (Cloudflare) see your IP address to answer requests and to limit how fast new chefs can be made from one address; the game doesn't store it.
Why
Everything above is kept to run the game: to save your progress, to match you against other players' plates, to keep battles fair, and to see how the game is played so it can be balanced and improved.
How long, and deleting it
Your chef and runs are kept while the game is running, so your record and ghosts stay part of the game. To have your chef and everything linked to it deleted, email ericxie6@gmail.com from the address of your Google account (if you signed in) or with your chef name, and it will be removed.
Children
The game doesn't ask for anyone's age and collects nothing beyond what's above. Signing in with Google follows Google's own age rules.
